Skoll Appoints Director of Strategy and Programs

San Jose, CA - Christy Chin is the new Director of Strategy and Programs at Skoll Foundation.

She will integrate several major responsibilities that shape and define the Skoll Foundation and its programs. As a member of the senior management team, she will have primary responsibility for leading Research and Development processes that determine ambitious new Skoll initiatives and design their implementation and evaluation.

Chin most recently co-chaired a volunteer consulting project for the American Red Cross - Bay Area Chapter, focused on its strategic priorities. Her background includes work as a venture capitalist, funding innovative technology companies, and as a director of business development for a healthcare organization. Chin began her career as a research associate for Professor J. Gregory Dees, widely regarded for his seminal work on social entrepreneurs and their impact.

"Clearly, Christy is well-equipped to contribute to the continued strategic development of the Skoll Foundation," said Sally Osberg, president and CEO. "As important as her business background is her dedication to the public benefit sector. "

She has a B.A. in history from Colgate University, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
