Bridget McNamer

Bridget McNamer manages a variety of grant relationships and initiatives in her role as Senior Program Officer with the Skoll Foundation’s Program and Impact team.

She came to the foundation from Northern California Grantmakers (NCG) in San Francisco, where, as Program Design Consultant, she developed programs for the organization’s Corporate Contributions Roundtable, including the 2007 Corporate Philanthropy Institute.

Bridget’s time with NCG capped more than a decade of experience as a consultant and practitioner in the field of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy. Six of those years were spent as a Vice President at Bank of America, initially as a Manager of Corporate Sponsorships and more recently as a Program Officer with the bank’s charitable foundation. At the bank’s foundation, she was responsible for the design, development and implementation of programs that helped Bank of America heighten its brand visibility and reputation while addressing community issues in key bank markets, both domestically and internationally.

While working for Bank of America, she founded and served as Chief Officer for four years of San Francisco Women’s Network, helping to recruit, retain and develop successful women professionals, and she initiated financial awareness classes for San Francisco-based Bank of America associates.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Bridget consulted with multinational corporations on corporate citizenship initiatives that also benefit the bottom line, as a manager at Business for Social Responsibility for four years and separately as a consultant for Levi Strauss & Co. This work entailed interaction with a wide range of institutions and individuals, ranging from some of the largest companies and government agencies in the world to grassroots nongovernmental organizations in developing countries.

Earlier in her career, Bridget taught middle and high school students at International Schools in Jakarta and served as Assistant to the President at American University in Cairo. She earned a B.A. in history from Harvard College and an M.A. in international relations and economics from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
