Lorna DonaldsonAs a Marketing Programs Specialist, Lorna is a key member of the Skoll World Forum production team. In her role, she plans and manages the Skoll Foundation activities around the Forum and serves as the key point of contact for the Skoll Awardees. Lorna also helps coordinate the development of the Skoll Foundation’s Uncommon Heroes films and participation in other social entrepreneur-related events, as well as contributes to additional marketing activities of the Foundation. Lorna has a strong history of event management and marketing in the technology and hospitality sectors. With more than 14 years at Sun Microsystems, she served in a variety of roles preparing and managing large events at both the business unit and corporate levels, including numerous overseas events. She managed initiatives for Sun executive visibility with customers via Sun’s Executive Connections Program. Lorna also did a stint at Excite@home managing corporate events. Before moving into the technology sector, Lorna spent eight years at Marriott International in a variety of sales and management positions in both the United Kingdom and the U.S., including developing and implementing strategic marketing programs for corporate accounts. Lorna has lived overseas in Hong Kong and Singapore, spent time volunteering as a teacher in Thailand, and has also volunteered at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. A native of Scotland, Lorna earned a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Social Psychology at the University of Kent, Canterbury, England. |
