Phil Collis
As Creative Manager / Web for the Skoll Foundation, Phil Collis oversees a broad range of marketing and media activities including web, print and production of the foundation’s “Uncommon Heroes” short film series profiling Skoll award recipients. He also manages media initiatives for the Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship and produces high profile presentations and media for executives.
Beyond the foundation, Phil has been involved in several successful web campaigns supporting documentary films including Coma (HBO), The New Heroes (PBS) and Ghosts of Abu Ghraib (HBO)
Prior to joining Skoll, he was Project Manager and New Media Programmer for KT Solutions, a leading e-learning content and multimedia design company serving Fortune 100 companies. In this role, he helped develop a full suite of e-learning courseware covering MCSE, A+ and MS application software based on HTML, Javascript and Lingo technology. He was one of the first programmers to implement SCORM compliancy (a government standardization of education content) within these courses, which he oversaw as part of a partnership with the American Disabilities Association. He also played a key role in integrating technology-based training courses with education and training programs for residents at Swords to Plowshares’ Veterans Academy.
A former resident of New Zealand and England, Phil earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Anglia Cambridge, where he majored in communications studies and multimedia. He is also an award winning electronic musician and producer in his spare time.
